Craftmakers News
Welcome to our new director, Lisa Stromsoe!
Lisa has been involved in Fine Craft for 45 years, as a successful gallery owner, consultant, curator and juror on a national scale. When SLOMA was an Art Center, she worked for decades with Craftsmakers Group and their exhibitions.
She has owned and managed three fine craft galleries and at one time represented 138 artists nationwide. A past juror for the prestigious American Craft Council Shows, Lisa has also worked with Craft in America Learning Center and other groups that support and celebrate fine craft.
Lisa would like to bring our group into the national dialogue on Fine Craft, which she believes is experiencing a renaissance in the international art scene.
Welcome Lisa!

ABOUT US:
CRAFTMAKERS is an independent group of artists working in a variety of 2-D and 3-D mediums. We seek to expand and improve as artisans by hosting and participating in multiple specialized exhibitions over the next few years, which will be held in delightfully unique spaces. Several exhibition opportunities are currently in the planning stages. We have access to a wide variety of jurors and curators from various regions and backgrounds, and a new director to help us advance, not only as a group, but as an inclusive SLO County fine crafts community.
We encourage membership from all artists working in Fine Craft mediums; functional, sculptural, and abstract wood, clay, fiber, glass, metal, textiles, jewelry, encaustics, and mixed media. Those of you belonging to multiple art organizations and communities are especially welcome and encouraged to join CRAFTMAKERS!
